As when we last checked in for a Face of the Day, it’s another rainy day here in New York. In an effort to keep our spirits high, we whipped out Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Raw Silence lipstick (as reviewed here) for the fourth day in a row, and decided to center our look around this stunning scarlet.
We’ve been experiencing some dryness around our chin and mouth lately, so it seemed like as good a time as any to continue testing our sample of Fresh’s Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil. This oil glides on and soaks in quickly, and is packed with Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9. We have no idea what the difference in the omegas might be, but were pleased to notice that our makeup went on more smoothly and dry patches were less noticeable.
Our passion for Dr. Jart Detox Black Label BB Cream is unwavering. In an inadvisable move, we didn’t smear on any sunblock this morning, but our beloved BB cream has SPF 25 which makes us slightly less irresponsible, right? Today we mixed it with a touch of Rouge Bunny Rouge Seas of Illumination Highlighting Liquid in Sea of Clouds. This softly shimmery luminizer is subtle and longer-lasting than many we’ve tried. Between allergies and a serious lack of beauty sleep, the loathed grey circles under our eyes are reappearing. A couple of swipes of the legendary Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat (in shade 1.5, Radiant Silk) didn’t solve matters, but really, looking as little like the Crypt Keeper as possible is really what it’s all about.
We’re also in the midst of testing Rouge Bunny Rouge Silk Aether Cream Shadow in Chiffon Ringlet, billed as a “semi-sheer satin mauvish chocolate with copper reflections.” Since we were planning a red lip, we sheered just a little out across our lid for a soft wash of brown, and smudged a bit along our lower lashline. Our Urban Decay Naked palette hasn’t been receiving the love and attention it so richly deserves lately, so we added a dab of Toasted eyeshadow for a little iridescence at the inner eye. FAIRYDROPS Scandal Queen mascara finished things off with all of its glossy black goodness.
And for the final touch, a few swipes of Rouge Bunny Rouge Raw Silence. Rainy day = red lip day? We think yes.
